Hi guys! This is a new set of 12 artworks I did for the new Star Wars Essential Reader's Companion. Although the dateline for this book was a lot tighter it nevertheless was an enjoyable and rewarding experience.
As with the last book I will be posting them in the order of sequence as it appears in the Reader's Companion. Enjoy!
Kyle Katarn and Jerec duke it out at the Valley of the Jedi in Ruusan. This scene is from one of my favorite Star Wars game franchises, Dark Forces. Though I have to admit that Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight is the only one in the series I've not actually played through. Nevertheless I do find it baffling that Kyle was able to defeat Jerec even after he was imbued with the power of many Jedis. I know gameplay factor had alot to do with this but perhaps there's a canon explanation of how Kyle Katarn overcame the supposedly "invincible" Sith that I'm not aware of.

He used a technique to temporarily cut Jerec off from he Force, since Jerec was only drawing from the valley's power he was weakened considerably for a time and then bested by Katarn.
Very well illustrated. I feel sorry for the people who didn't play this wonderful game.
