This is one of ten pieces I did for the new Star Wars Essential Guide to Warfare. I had a blast working on it and I'm excited that I am able to contribute to the Star Wars universe.

I will be posting them in the order of sequence as it appears in the book. Hope you guys enjoy them!

This is a depiction of one of the earliest battles in Star Wars history. The ancient Rakatans storm a Killik hive on Alderaan for the glory of the Infinite Empire while the sentient insectoids fight for their survival.

Very nice you don't see many depictions of the Rakata.

I wonder whatever happened to the Rakatans? After KoToR you don't see them at all...

According to Wookieepedia, they eventually died out on their home planet due to a shrinking gene pool and tribal warfare, as it is uninhabited by the events of the first Darth Bane book. The Rakatans that did leave Lehon found residence in the Rakan Archipelago where a few of them rediscovered space flight and began building orbital stations similar to the Star Forge.

Two ancient powerhouses, the unstoppable force and the immovable object. This is a story all on its own.
